June is otherwise a boring month with the heat sweat and endless work days in schools and offices(with no holidays in the calendar!). But with the arrival of monsoon now Kolkata climate is more than enjoyable. Especially after spending a blissful month in Assam in its pleasant weather I am just loving the monsoon of Kolkata. At the arrival in Netaji SubhasChandra Airport domestic terminal I served myself some really tasty
Singharas which were lot fat and of appealing size too. They matched the weather outside!
Though Kolkatan vouch for tasty Singharas, pakoras and phooskas as their favourite companions for aftern work adda sessions during monsoon, the monsoon itself getting horrible in each passing year. With clogged roads, traffic jams, in-campus flood (which is the greatest leveller!) monsoon is no longer enjoyable I think. You may love to go out and flaunt your latest umbrella while shopping but the endless traffic jam will be enough to make you foget about what you carrying in your shopping bags. Whatever remains in your wishlist do not forget to buy yourself some pairs of rubber flip-flops, cappris and outfits made of easily manageable fabrics. And forget your cottons and linens for the next two three months.
