Axis mall in New Town, Kolkata review

The Axis mall is always seen while driving past the New Town Rajarhat Road. It(the Axis mall) however appear to be a dull, lacklustre structure from the road. So I decided to give it a shot and to check what is there. And the almost new Spencers store at Axis mall was just inviting.

But when take the road heading to Axis mall it is quite a view. The structural grandeur of the mall with huge corinthian columns is a treat for your eyes especially while your eyes are tired of seeing tall glass building! I really really like the appearance of the Axiss mall building at New Town.

Coming to the point Axis mall New Town is situated a few minutes away from Home Town Mall in Kokata. It is well connected by road, in fact best roads in Kolkata. And buses and taxis ply all day long. If you take buses I think you have to wind up well before 11 pm. But then Axis mall shops now get closed at 9pm itself. Restaurants like Aheli9famous chain for authentic bengali foo and cuisine), Mahek-e-Punjab, Food court etc are kept opened  till 11 pm I think. So what I want to say is it is better to visit Axis mall during evening.

 The ground floor of Axis mall is dedicated to lifestyle store Spencers. In my views this Spencer store in Axis mall is best, spacious and rich among the Spencers hyper stores  in Kolkata.

Home products, appliances, durables, grocery, apparels, toys and personal care products have variety to choose from and you get comfort while shopping because the store is still spacious and not like a market place with huge footfall till now.

Reliance Trendz in Axis mall, New Town review

The 1st floor in Axis mall is home to different stores of  Reliance like Reliance Trends(apparels), Reliance Time-Out(for stationery, books, flowers, Toys, music and flims.

I loved the apparel store  Reliance Trendz in Axis mall. The best part I liked in Reliance Trendz is the kids section. Fresh, new designs of summer clothes could really impress me. And the best aspect there is the price. actually for the other sections like men's, girls wear, womens wear the price is quite affordable and you get a variety of clothes to choose from. For womens wear section what I disliked is some unstiched salwar suit pieces that are heavy, ccostly and I don't know what else I should say. But the readymade garments section for women is quite impressive and has good stock, choice and prices as well.

Reliace Digital in Axis mall

Reliance Digital store is one of the favorite electronic  gadgets stores in Kolkata. its success can be easily fathomed with several other Reliance Digital stores opened at different places in Kolkata. In fact a brand new one is just opened near VIP road at New Town road.

A books and stationery store is always my favourite because it keeps my kids occupied with books or play items and I can relax watching and spending time with books. True, new age India is spending time on books, not at facebook and twitter only. And the number of new books published and bought by youngsters prove that. But there is another side of the story. Books those are popular now are mostly fiction, read and throw types of books which people buy for a journey. Books are coming at a cheap rate too! And Reliance Time-Out houses can boast of a big number of such books!

But there are books for kids of different age and each section is well defined for your easy reach. Toys and kids accessories are basically from Fisher-price brand and hence reliable. Learning charts, colours, stationeries etc for kids have a healthy connection at Reliance TimeOut. And yes, as you can see in the picture, you can relax by sitting in the sitting area with a book there while your partner is busy at other sections! This is great especially when you have elderly people along with you.

Axis mall has vacant floors and ready to be rented stores as well. In fact apart from ground floor(Spencers), 1st floor(Reliance) and top floor that is Food court, two other middle floors at Axis malls are all empty. Stores in these floors will add life to the huge mall I guess.
